Mercenaries & Privateers Late Backer / Pre-Orders

Mercenaries & Privateers is a card expansion for the Swords & Sails epic game of diplomacy, conquest, and intrigue set in 1000 AD. You can get all the original items which were available with the original Kickstarter while supplies last. You can even add items from our Tali, Roman Knucklebones and Micro-Role Playing game if desired. Look for the Separate Shipping Add-On to request shipping the current items (previously manufactured) as soon as we can and not to wait for everything to come at once.

Backerkit surveys are coming!

Hi everyone, I hope you are are doing well and are healthy.  And I want to thank everyone who helped us bring the Mercenaries & Privateer card add-on to life and the as well the two new streamlined minor players.

In case you missed the campaign, we are now accepting late backers / pre-orders:

If we can raise more funds in BackerKit we maybe able to get those last few stretch goals, I will need to count none shipping funds raised to determine these late backer and current backers adding on or upgrading their pledges.  I suggest everyone upgrades to the $41 Master Warrior level or higher as then you will receive one of the two new Streamlined add-on Minor players.  And if we add enough additional funds, we will look at adding the wooden pieces and the custom dice.  But first we must look at adding these Minor players Mercenary / Privateer stretch goals which were revealed but not unlocked.

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

We will be booth 416 and will also be running Learn to Play games of both Swords & Sails and Tali during Origin's.  Come see us and say hi!  And look for our coupon in the Origin's Coupon book.

And that's a wrap, we have raised $6,073 (303%) for producing the Mercenaries & Privateers Intrigue card expansion to Swords & Sails the epic game of diplomacy, conquest, and now even more intrigue.  In the process, we have funded 15 stretch goals, which includes 2 new card only (although we will be including the faction markers) minor players, the Khazar Empire and the Armenian Kingdom, an additional Mercenary, the Varangian Guards, an additional Privateer Roden's Raiders, 3 new pairs of Calamity and Prosperity cards; Iron Shortage and Surplus,  Equine Contagion and Fertility, Tree Infestation and Increased Growth, 3 new City Revolt cards; Peasant Revolt, Political Unrest, and Instigate Sedition, 2 new Red War intrigue cards Siege Engine and the City Fire cards, a new Yellow Espionage card for Bribed Passage Army Retreats, and 2 new scenarios for use with the new Khazar and Armenian minor players.


I want to thank everyone who helped make this possible.

Again thank you everyone and now back to work, making all those weapons and armor for the Mercenaries to use, so they are ready when you recruit them into your armies.

Last few hours of Mercenaries & Privateers

Hello everyone, we are in the final few hours left in the Mercenaries & Privateers Kickstarter, and it is becoming a bit of a roller coaster and a race to see if we can get over that 300% funding goal to unlock the additional Armenian Kingdom printed minor player.  As happens at the end of KS campaigns, some people cancel or reduce their pledges and that has and probably still will happen here.  We were less than $450 from the %300 goal and the new minor player for most of last night, and then poof, we were below the $5500 level again.    Well, near the end people adjust their pledges.   That just gives more reason for everyone to see if they could use an extra add-on or spend the $10 extra for early delivery of the in stock items (separate shipping) or make sure they don't want to switch the pledge from the $25 to the $41 or even the $56 level or even higher if you still need the premium neoprene map, metal coins, or additional minor players.

If you haven't pledge yet, then help us get to the rest of the stretch goals and get a whole bunch of game for the cost with special discount and bundles exclusive to this KS campaign, only available here.

With roughly 1 hour left, we made it to the 300% stretch goal and have unlocked the additional Armenian Kingdom minor player.


That means, everyone will want to be at the $41 Master Warrior level or above to receive the free new Minor player and now you can pick between the two.  And don't worry, if you miss doing it now, you will be able to upgrade in the pledge manager.


Now we are listed a few more to see if we can make the last few stretch goals beyond that.

Only 22 hrs left, and now over 262% funded, with 11 stretch goals unlocked

Hello everyone and thank you for getting us over 262% funded.

This means we have unlocked 11 stretch goals, including 1 new Privateer, 1 new Mercenary, the siege engine war card, 2 new City Revolt cards, 2 PnP Minor Players with additional digital only scenarios, the City Fire espionage card, the Khazar Empire Army & Fleet card only light version of the new minor player (which is included for free in backing levels of $41 and above), the Bribed Passage espionage card for a free Army retreat, and 1 new Calamity and its matching Prosperity cards.

We have now revealed 4 more stretch goals to try and get in the next 22 hours, including the printed copy of the Armenian Kingdom Army and Fleet cards.  Help us reach this goal before time runs out.  Notice, if adjust your $25 pledge to Master Warrior at $41, this will enable you to get the new Intrigue M&P deck, the new card only Khazar Empire Minor player and then choose the Armenian Kingdom minor player as your pick of the 1 of 6 (now 7) minor players.
